Wellbeing walks

Get off the beaten track with our hidden Norfolk gems. Escape the crowds or go on an adventure and explore new areas on walks that take you deep into the Norfolk countryside.

Connect with the past lives lived in these landscapes. Walk in their footsteps of survival and discover how this family thrived, with the stories of the historic Paston family.

Or simply slow down and enjoy the peace and quiet. All our countryside walks are way-marked with the Paston griffin sign, so you can relax and enjoy the route.

For wellbeing activities to do on the walks, such as meditation or sensory mindfulness, visit our creative walking page.

Follow the old pilgrim route and enjoy a digital reconstruction of Bromholm priory as the Pastons would have known it. Stroll on the beach and engage in meditation as you walk.

Take a stroll through the magical Broadland countryside and beside a beautiful stretch of the River Bure, where kingfishers and barn owls can be seen. Take a picnic, spot a steam train and take in views of Oxnead Hall, once the magnificent home of the Pastons. Using Paston cues, take part in visual mindful exercises to connect with the environment on this walk.

Take a short, tranquil walk through the open fields and wooded, country lanes. See if you can spot kestrels, red kites and buzzards in the big Norfolk skies. The 'landscape and atmosphere of this walk is otherworldly' - as described by one of our Paston Country walkers.
